Job Description

Radiation Oncologist Opportunity Eastern Oregon

Summary:

Eastern Oregon Cancer Center (EOCC) is seeking a board certified or board eligible radiation oncologist. The center is a freestanding, single LINAC center with a well-established, respected practice that has treated about 15 patients per day. On-call is not required. Remote days are possible. Compensation is $500,000+ depending on experience and qualifications. Open to both experienced physicians and soon-to-be graduates.

The center is in Pendleton, Oregonabout an hours drive from Walla Walla and the Tri-Cities region of Washington (Pasco, which has a regional airport, as well as Kennewick and Richland). Pendleton is also centrally located between major cities: approximately 3.5 hours from Portland and Boise, and 4.5 hours from Seattle.

Facility:

EOCC, built in 2019, is a modern, freestanding, single LINAC cancer center adjacent to St. Anthony Hospital, serving as the primary radiation oncology provider for three regional hospitals. The facility is already established with comprehensive infrastructure, including:

Elekta Synergy (SRS/SBRT capable)
RayStation treatment planning
Mosaiq OIS
Hot lab and infrastructure to deliver radiopharmaceuticals and active nuclear medicine program

Additionally, the center is planning to install a PET/CT to enable PET/CT simulations and theranostics capabilities.

Compensation and Partnership Details:

Compensation is $500,000+ depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, the role includes the potential for performance-based incentives and equity partnership in the practice. A formal partnership track can also be offered, allowing the physician to buy into the practice.

The position offers a high degree of flexibility and autonomy to tailor scheduling and clinical workflows to fit your preferred practice style. The role allows for remote days. On-call is not required.

The center is transitioning to new ownership under a physician-led group, who are committed to maintaining the strength of the practice and continuing to deliver exceptional patient care to a community that needs and deeply values the center.

The opportunity is ideal for a physician interested in shaping their own practice, while maintaining work-life balance and making a meaningful impact on the community.

Community and Lifestyle:

Since opening, EOCC has become an essential part of the community, treating 15-20 patients per day. The center has been embraced by the region, with strong support from local hospitals, referring providers, and community members who recognize the importance of having expert cancer care close to home. The Eastern Oregon Cancer Network, a nonprofit foundation, helps ensure that all patients have access to care by assisting with travel and housing, with a patient house a block away from the center.

Pendleton is a close-knit community in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, offering a welcoming and supportive environment for both professionals and families. The town blends historic charm with modern amenities, featuring a vibrant downtown, local dining, and year-round cultural events, including the Pendleton Round-Up and Pendleton Whisky Music Festival. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hiking, fishing, golf, and skiing, while Walla Walla and the Tri-Cities, known for their wineries and restaurants, are just an hour away.
