Job Title: Remote School Social Worker Michigan (K12)

Job Type: Part-Time 1099 Contract
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Remote School Social Worker licensed in Michigan to support students in K12 school settings. This fully remote position involves delivering social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health services virtually, in collaboration with educators, families, and school teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience providing services aligned with IEPs, 504 Plans, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), as well as a deep understanding of Michigan educational and mental health regulations.
Provide virtual individual and group counseling to support students social-emotional and behavioral needs.
Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs and 504 Plans.
Conduct social work assessments, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and contribute to Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external providers to support student success.
Deliver crisis intervention, prevention services, and referrals as appropriate.
Assist in the implementation of school-wide mental health and behavioral programs, including MTSS and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of services provided, assessments, and communication with stakeholders.
Attend virtual IEP, student support, and professional development meetings as required.
Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
Valid School Social Worker License/Approval in the state of Michigan (310 Letter or temporary approval accepted).
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) preferred.
Experience working with K12 students in school-based or virtual settings.
Strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and FERPA laws.
Proficiency with teletherapy tools and secure virtual platforms.
Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
