Salary: $15-18/hr DOQ

The Lisle Park District Dance teacher instructs students on dance techniques and styles. Provides self-enrichment activities and teaches professional dance performance skills. Hours vary by class schedule.

Responsibilities include:

• Understands, accepts, and abides by the Districts philosophy and mission statement in all his/her dance activities.
• Develops daily lesson plans that provide for differentiation and ongoing assessment.
• Instructs students in ballet, ballroom, tap, and other forms of dancing.
• Drills pupils in execution of dance steps.
• May teach theory and practice of dance notation.
• May choreograph and direct dance performance.
• May teach history of dance.
• Explains and demonstrates techniques and methods of regulating movements of body to musical or rhythmic accompaniment.
• Creates a positive classroom environment which supports engaged student learning.
• Arrives punctually, be prepared for each day, and maintains regular attendance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 16 yrs. of age.
• Experience teaching dance to young students
• Must be able to demonstrate various forms of dance, including but not limited to ballet, ballroom, tap, and other forms of dancing.
• Strong interpersonal skills and work well with the public and other staff.
• Ability to follow direction and work independently.
• Understanding and ability to deliver quality customer service.
  
• Able to lift and move up to 20lbs.
• Able to perform duties which include lifting, stooping, bending, twisting, dancing
